Abstract
Objective: To determine the effectiveness of active, upper-room, germicidal ultraviolet (GUV) devices in reducing bacterial contamination in patient rooms in air and on surfaces as a supplemental infection control measure in a burn intensive care unit. This innovative study evaluates the effectiveness of germicidal ultraviolet technology for reducing bacterial contamination in high-risk hospital environments, providing evidence for environmental infection control strategies in critical care settings.
